About Peptides
International
Peptides International was founded by
chemical products for
major research institutions throughout the world. Peptides International's owner and former President and CEO, Jackie B. Spatola, announced the appointment
of Dr. Bryce V.
Johnson to the position of President and CEO in June of 2005.
We have an ever growing line of products and we demand excellence in each of
then. We simply will not provide a product unless it is of the highest quality
available anywhere in the world. We are passionate about purity and
bringing you the kinds of products we would only use in our laboratory.
Major Products
Peptides International manufactures and distributes biochemical
products for major research institutions throughout the world. Please
visit our new products page for
additional information. Our Louisville laboratory specializes in solid phase resins,
amino acid derivatives, peptides, metalloprotease inhibitors, and custom synthesis
services. Other exceptional products that we offer include: peptides, enzyme inhibitors
(leupeptin, pepstatin A, phosphoramidon, ubenimex, MMPs, TAPI, proteasome), enzyme substrates (FRET, MCA, pNA), peptide
toxins and antisera, amino acids (derivatives, protected, and unusual, mini-PEGTM), resins, reagents for solid phase
synthesis and combinatorial chemistry accessories (specialty glassware,
shakers). We also specialize in custom synthesis services, including our Substrates by Design services. Please
visit our Custom Peptide Services page
for additional information and new
PI product page for product updates. Please contact us via phone, fax or email, if you
have a specific product inquiry.
Major Distribution Source
We are proud to partner with the Peptide
Institute of Osaka, Japan. Peptides International features the full
line of quality products
of the Peptide Institute, a world leader in complex
peptide synthesis. The Peptide Institute is the commercial partner of the Protein Research
Foundation of Osaka, Japan, which provides a complete listing of peptide related
publications, both in hard copy form and through its own Internet
linkage.
We also feature TentaGel resins from Rapp Polymere of Germany. Peptides International is also proud to offer CLEAR resin products through an exclusive license with the University of Minnesota. Newly licensed products include ADAMTS-13 Substrate FRETS-VWF73 (National Cardiovascular Center in Japan). Other licensed products include MMP inhibitors TAPI and SIMP products (Research Corporation Technologies, Tucson, AZ), w-agatoxin IVA (University of Utah), amylin (Amylin Pharmaceuticals), fluorescent substrates NFF-2 and NFF-3 (University of Minnesota), Melanocortin Ligands (University of Florida), and Urantide and Urotensin II agonist (University of Naples).
Our Mission
Helping biomedical researchers save lives.
Louisville, Kentucky Laboratory
Our Louisville laboratory is involved in custom synthesis,
new product development, quality control operations, and a plethora of research interests.
Our proprietary research interests include new applications for CLEAR resins; MMP inhibitors; membrane based peptide synthesis; mild forms of solid phase cleavage techniques; new types of combinatorial chemistry; and unusual amino acid synthesis, including asymmetric synthesis, amide bond surrogates, and peptide mimetics. Peptides International obtained the first NSF SBIR grant funded in the state of Kentucky and its research projects have also been funded through the NIH SBIR program. Peptides International is currently developing CLEAR-OX, a polymer-supported oxidant, as a new tool for the facile formation of disulfide bonds in the synthesis of bioactive peptides through the current support of a Phase II NIH SBIR grant.
