Search Tips

All searches are not case sensitive. For "Catalog" searches...

• In the product search field, you can search by product name, part of a sequence or the whole sequence, molecular formula, part of or the whole catalog #, or keyword.

• Do not include scientific symbols in searches such as greek characters, in our product database these are spelled out in text, i.e. just typing Defensin 1 is best.

• Words separated by spaces or dashes are searched anywhere on the page and it assumed that all words must exist on the page to be matched. (ex: a product keyword search for Proteasome Inhibitor MG 132 will locate any product with the words inhibitor and proteasome regardless of order.

• Product and category name searches may hit anywhere inside of the name.

• Keyword searches must match the first part of a word inside of the product.

• If words may have multiple suffixes, try leaving off the suffix. (ex: a keyword search for inhibit will find all forms of inhibit, including: inhibits, inhibitor, inhibitors and inhibiting).

Search Examples

Product Code
Returns any categories or products whose name includes your search criteria. For example, ADA-2801-PI.

Product Name
Returns any categories or products whose name includes your search criteria. For example, L-alanine.

Catalog Number
Returns all products having catalog numbers matching your criteria. (Hint #1: Enter only the first part of a catalog number to return multiple results. Hint #2: Enter multiple catalog numbers separated by spaces to return multiple results.) For example, 32443-99-5.

Sequence
Enter part of a sequence from the product if it is available in the description. For example, Gly-Cys-Cys-Asn.

Molecular Formula
Returns all products having a molecular formula matching your criteria. (Hint #1: Enter only letters and numbers. For water you would enter H2O.) For example, C6H13NO2.

Product Keyword(s)
Returns all products having the keywords in them. This searches product descriptions and also includes the Product Name search. (Hint #1: See above for hints on keyword searches.)

Technical Literature (website search)
Returns all technical documents having the keywords in them. This searches PDF files and images associated with products and also includes the Product Name search. (Hint #1: See above for hints on keyword searches.) Must select "Website" type search to get PDF returns.
